About this calculator
Your course grade = current grade × (1 − w) + final score × w, where w is the final’s weight as a fraction. Rearranged, the score you need is (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w.
Worked example
With 78% so far and a final worth 30%, reaching 80% overall needs (80 − 78 × 0.7) ÷ 0.3 = 84.67% on the final.
How to use the final grade calculator
- Enter the current grade.
- Enter the final exam weight.
- Enter the target grade.
- Read the result — it updates as you type.
