About this calculator
Passwords are built with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), with at least one character from each set you choose. Nothing is sent or stored. Longer is stronger: each extra character multiplies the number of possible passwords.
Worked example
A 16-character password using all four sets draws from 70 characters, giving about 98 bits of entropy — far beyond what can be guessed.
How to use the password generator
- Enter the length.
- Press Generate new password for a fresh result.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a password be?
At least 12–16 characters for important accounts. A password manager makes long passwords easy to use.
Is the password stored anywhere?
No. It exists only on this page until you copy it.
